HISTORY - The origins of the town, which the ancient Greeks knew as Heliopolis ( "town of the sun" ), can be seen in the small park which is lined with columns and statuary fragments from a Roman temple to Jupiter which ones graced the spot. The Romans also built a fortress in the vicinity to protect their sea trading routes between Constantinopol and the Donau.

AVERAGE TEMPERATURE in the summer is about 28°C and water temperature is between 22°-25°C. In the morning before sunrise the air is rich in ozone and negative ions, ultraviolet rays and iodine released in the form of gas from the seaweed.
